After I Apply, What's the Enrollment Process?

Our Enrollment is an intentional process...

  1. After meeting each other at the school tour, the parents, teachers and children need to feel confident that Woodsong Forest School is the right fit. The school director will contact you within a week of your tour to answer any remaining questions and then either invite you to enroll or discuss any concerns that may have arisen. If all spaces are full, you will receive an email to let you know that your child has been placed on a waiting list.

  2. Once you receive the official enrollment form, it will need to be completed and returned to Woodsong as soon as possible, along with the non-refundable $100 registration fee. This fee will hold your child's space and pay for forest school materials. Please attach your child's immunization record or religious exemption form.

  3. Your child's space in the class will be officially reserved as soon as this paperwork is turned in, and the enrollment check clears.

As with any adventure, there is important information for the journey...

  • In order to enroll your child in forest school, he or she must be able to follow directions carefully and show respect towards other children and their teachers.

  • Children must be toilet-proficient in order to attend. They must know when they have to go to the bathroom and be able to effectively communicate that.

  • All students must be at least 3 years old by August 1st.

  • You must commit to appropriate clothing for Forest School. This is CRITICAL to the success of the program. "There is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing choices." See the parent handbook for further information on seasonal clothing requirements.

  • We strongly value communication. A quarterly newsletter will be sent out to parents. It will highlight all of the learning and growth that took place throughout that particular season. We also regularly post Woodsong’s story on Instagram.

  • In addition, we strongly value building relationships with Woodsong's families. Therefore, we will host quarterly weekend events to promote community development within our school, and to extend the forest school experience to each student's entire family.
